This 3-day gorilla trekking safari takes you deep into the ancient rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The experience of trekking through the forest and meeting a gorilla family in their natural habitat is one of the most powerful wildlife encounters in Africa.
Day 1 – Transfer from Kampala / Entebbe to Bwindi
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe by our professional driver guide. The journey to Bwindi takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside with views of rolling hills, tea plantations, and traditional villages.
You will make several scenic stopovers including the famous Uganda Equator crossing for photos and lunch. After lunch the journey continues through southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Upon arrival at your lodge near the park, you will check in, relax, and prepare for the exciting gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. During the briefing you will receive guidelines on how to behave during the gorilla trek.
The trek begins as you enter the dense rainforest in search of a mountain gorilla family. The trek may take anywhere between 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, groom each other, and interact in their natural habitat.
This moment is often described by travelers as the highlight of their African safari.
After the trek you will return to the lodge for relaxation and storytelling about the incredible experience.

Day 3 – Return to Kampala / Entebbe
